STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — What started as a frightening home break-in last weekend in an upscale section of Staten Island ended with the property owner tracking down and recovering his own $400,000 Rolls-Royce in Newark.

Police initially responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to a report of a burglary and/or car theft on a quiet, dead-end street in Lighthouse Hill, an NYPD spokesperson said.
