In a
maiden initiative,
Mascot College and Group of Institutions organised ‘Tuberculosis Patient Adoption Programme’ recently, which was inaugurated by
Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment, Govt. of India in the presence of esteemed dignitaries like Dr SK Garg, District Tuberculosis Officer; Amit Verma, Assistant Professor of Department of Pharmacy at MJP Rohilkhand University, among others.
The event saw only only dignitaries but students participating with great zeal.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar appreciated the efforts of college and its students for such a noble cause. In his interaction, he said, "The benefits of adoption of Tuberculosis Patient Program can now be availed by the society and it is a kind of revolution taking place in the field of computer science and technology."

Bareilly, who has taken this unique initiative for Zero TB by 2025, as per the directives by Prime Minister and Governor of Uttar Pradesh. He threw light over the key features of digital platform of tuberculosis patient adoption process and urged everyone saying, "The educational institutes and students must come up for such adoption with the slogan 'Adopt TB Patient, Illuminate Mankind'.

Dr SK Garg, District Tuberculosis Officer provided awareness about the Government initiatives to the college students for controlling tuberculosis. He also showed concern for increasing number of patients of tuberculosis in Bareilly. He said, "Approximately 13,000 patients of tuberculosis exist till now in District. However with the help of adoption process, and by spreading awareness in educated society we can root out this problem and its related myths."
One of the social workers, Anoop Agarwal also shared experience of patients of tuberculosis in rural sector. Later, an interactive session of Q&A was held towards the end of the program, wherein the expert panel gave answers to the queries raised by students.
