DECATUR — Doris Daws, 94, of Decatur, IL passed away on October 30, 2019 at Imboden Creek Living Center. Funeral services will be November 6, at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church; visitation 10-11 A.M.; with services immediately following. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Doris was born August 10, 1925 in Macon County, the daughter of Lewis and Hilda Joynt Parish. Doris attended school in Warrensburg, IL graduating in 1942. She attended Millikin and Illinois State University and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Doris was a Special Reading Teacher at Warrensburg/Latham Elementary School and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, music and golf.
Doris is survived by her son, Russell (Carol) Daws of Tallahassee, FL; her daughter, Marcia (Kevin) McRoberts of Decatur, IL; her nieces, Sue Robinson of Gilbert, AZ and Ann Friend of Phoenix, AZ; her nephews, Dain (Cheryl) Friend of Decatur, IL, Lane Friend of Los Vegas, NV and Steven (Mary Jo) Parish of Washington, IL; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, (Harold), parents, sister, Margaret (Ezra) Friend, and brother, Gerald (Delores) Parish.
Memorial donations may be made to Rock Springs Nature Center or Scovill Zoo.
