A woman fell to her death in Water Tower Place on Sunday evening, according to authorities.

The 65-year-old woman fell from the seventh floor of the shopping mall at 835 N. Michigan Ave. The Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene about 6 p.m., a Fire Department spokesman said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Police and fire officials remained at the scene more than an hour later, with police officers standing in front of Water Tower’s east entrance. The building is closed.
