The Backstreet Boys have postponed their 2020 North American tour dates, including a planned Oklahoma City show, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Our fans, crew and everyone's health is our top priority. Stay tuned for an official announcement next week. Please hold on to your tickets until then," the vocal group said in a statement.

As previously reported, the Backstreet Boys were planning to kick off the 2020 North American leg of "The DNA World Tour" July 10 in New York.

Produced by Live Nation, the 45-date, three-month trek was to see the group performing its catalog of award-winning hits in arenas and amphitheaters all over the U.S. and Canada. The group was to play the 2020 finale at the famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, which earlier this month announced the unprecedented decision to cancel its season.

The trek was to include an Oklahoma City stop Aug. 22 at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

"We are working with their team to determine a new date. Fans can hold on to their tickets as they will be good for the new date," the arena announced.

The Backstreet Boys have been touring in support of their chart-topping and Grammy-nominated new album “DNA.” As previously reported, last year's sold-out North American tour included an Oklahoma stop at Tulsa's BOK Center.
