Though it’s still early in October, Halloween events and fall festivities are in full swing.

Consult this list to make some plans — whether it’s the pumpkin spice and everything nice sort or the blood-curdling fright variety.

Sever’s Fall Festival. Sever’s has a new location in Shakopee this year, and everything from pig races to an exotic petting zoo. Leaf Fest. Celebrate the changing seasons and help create a community art project composed of sticks. 10th anniversary Valley Vine & Harvest Throwdown. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Canvas Health is putting a different spin on its chef competition, with the goal of raising money for local mental health programs, substance use programs, crisis, trauma and unstable housing. Each competing chef will prepare a popular entree from a specific decade from 1960 through 2010. Afton Apple Orchard’s Apple Festival. Silverwood Park Pumpkin Carving. Pumpkins, decorations and carving tools are provided; you bring the imagination. Anoka Halloween Month. See true haunted hospitality at the Halloween capital of the world. An Orange Tie Ball, the Gray Ghost 5K, a movie night and a Halloween-inspired house decorating contest make up just a part of this October in Anoka. Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Wabasha Street Caves Ghosts and Graves Tour. Hop on a bus tour and learn the haunted past of St. Paul on a Ghost and Graves Tour or experience the Wabasha Caves by candlelight on a Lost Souls Tour. Dead End Hayride. Satisfy your spooky itch with this hayride. New this year is “The Dead End Patio,” a spot for 21+ guests to enjoy beer, wine, hard seltzer and cider before or after the attraction. The Haunting of Heights Theater. Fright Farm. Discover a dark past during a night of horror at the former Ramsey County Poor Farm and Cemetery. Halloween Lights on York Avenue. More than 10,000 lights twinkle in time to a radio station programmed for this neighborhood Halloween light show. Woods of Terror. Prepare to be terrified on this 30- to 45-minute walk through haunted woods, inspired by the haunts and horror movies of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. Screamtown. Not all that’s ghastly and ghoulish is contained within the six haunted attractions — seven if you have a VIP pass — so make sure to always look behind you. Bats, Bones and Bonfires. Bring the whole family for this Halloween festival.
