A 21-year-old man vomited a plastic bag containing what is believed to Percocet pills Wednesday night after he and another suspect were taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police with a gun and narcotics, authorities said.

A trooper with the state police gang unit saw a gray Dodge Durango with Virginia license plates speeding by more than 20 miles per hour on Route 107 in Lynn around 6:40 p.m., authorities said.

The Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit regularly helps Lynn police with gang-, gun-, and drug-related arrests, and authorities were aware of a recent uptick in shots fired in cities in the North Shore, law enforcement noted.

When the trooper pulled the Durango over on Manning Street, he noticed the two men inside were acting nervously and moving in an “exaggerated manner,” state police said in a statement.

The driver, identified as Shondel Holloway, could not provide the sports car’s registration and told the trooper it was a rental that belonged to a relative of his, according to the statement.

The passenger, 21-year-old Kemoni Boone, was not able to provide his ID either, state police claimed.

“Several other troopers responded to back up the stop,” state police said. “Troopers took both men out of the Durango, and, during a search, located a Christmas gift bag in the rear of the vehicle that contained a digital scale and several small plastic bags containing suspected heroin or fentanyl.”

Police also found a black semi-automatic pistol with a high-capacity magazine in a secret console in the car. One round was in the chamber of the gun, and 15 rounds were in the magazine, according to authorities.

The two men had a little bit less $2,500 cash in total with them. Police suspect the cash to be from the illegal profits of drug sales, authorities said.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to state police barracks in Revere, according to law enforcement. During booking, troopers found plastic bags of what they believed to be Percocet pills hidden in each of suspect’s pants.

As he was being booked, Holloway told troopers he had to puke. The 21-year-old Lynn man was placed in a cell, where he is accused of throwing up a bag containing small blue pills that police suspected were Percocet, law enforcement said.

“Troopers asked him if he had swallowed any other drugs besides that bag, to which he said he had not,” state police said.

Both suspects were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, being felons in possession of a gun and conspiracy to violate narcotics laws, according to state police.

Holloway was also charged with trafficking heroin and possession of a Class B narcotic with intent to distribute, law enforcement said. Boone, a Malden resident, was charged with trafficking a Class B narcotic as well.

The suspects were expected to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Thursday, authorities said.
