Framingham Will Get Free Coronavirus Testing

The free coronavirus testing initiative comes as Framingham sees a slight uptick in cases.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Amid an uptick in coronavirus cases, Framingham has been added to a state program offering free tests to local residents.

The "Stop the Spread" campaign testing will begin Wednesday in Framingham. The drive-thru tests will be administered at Keefe Technical High School, according to city officials.

Framingham added nine new cases over the weekend, and the number of active cases has reached 100 again after dropping to below 80 in mid-July. The death toll in Framingham stood at 121 as of Monday.

The "Stop the Spread" campaign has brought testing to cities around the state where coronavirus testing rates are on the rise, including Worcester and Marlborough.

The free testing will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (after Aug. 5) from 2 to 6 p.m., and 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and Thursday. The testing will be available through Aug. 14, and not appointment is needed.
