WESTERLY — Westerly High put the first two runners across the line, but lost to South Kingstown in a Southern Division girls cross country meet at the Bradford Preserve Tuesday.

Freshman Kaya West won her second race of the season placing first on the 3.1-mile course in 20:44. Jenna Burke was right behind in 20:48.

But South Kingstown had nine of the next 10 runners.

Westerly (4-1) lost to South Kingstown, 26-33, but beat Exeter-West Greenwich and West Warwick by 15-50 margins.

Other scorers for the Bulldogs were Anna Nyberg (seventh, 21:31), Maddie Lorello (14th, 23:24) and Mia Campbell (18th, 23:27).

Westerly travels to Rocky Point State Park in Warwick on Monday to compete against Toll Gate and Rogers at 4 p.m.
