Ms Smallman's boyfriend, Adam, found them and the murder weapon in the park, Wesminster Magistrates' Court heard today.

Danyal Hussein, 18, is accused of killing Bibaa Henry, 46, and Ms Smallman, 27, last month.

Hussein was arrested at his south London home in Blackheath, and charged with the murders, and carrying an offensive weapon.

Appearing in court today from custody Hussein spoke to confirm his, name, address and confirm his nationality as British.

District Judge Angus Hamilton told Hussein his case would be sent to the crown court where he would face a judge and jury trial.

No charges were put during the hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.

Judge Hamilton said: 'The allegation which you face can only be dealt at the crown court.

"I am sending your case to the Criminal Crown Court, the Old Bailey."

Hussein, of Blackheath, will next appear at the Old Bailey for a plea and trial preparation hearing on July 6.

The sisters had spent the evening celebrating Ms Henry's 46th birthday.

Police were called to the park on June 7 to a report of two women found unresponsive.

Bibaa, who lived in Wembley, and Nicole, of Harrow, were part of a group of 10 people who gathered from 7.40pm on Friday for the birthday picnic in the 254-acre park.

The hilltop site by two Ash trees is a five-minute walk from houses on Valley Drive and has panoramic views of London and its surrounding countryside.

DOUBLE MURDER

North West BCU Commander Roy Smith said earlier: “I would like to thank the local community for their support both with the investigation and the police activity at and around the scene.

"I know that colleagues from across the Met have been working tirelessly on this investigation.

"My officers will remain on patrol in the local area providing continued reassurance – please do stop and speak with them if you have any questions or concerns."

Both women were stabbed multiple times, a post-mortem carried out two days later revealed.

Last Thursday it was revealed two police officers were arrested following allegations "inappropriate" selfie pictures were taken at the scene.
