Mildred K. Naylor, 91

Shrewsbury — Mildred Kathryn (Farquhar) Naylor, 91, formerly of Grafton, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital on October 14, 2021 after a period of declining health and COVID 19. Her beloved husband, C. Burton Naylor predeceased her in Wertheim, Germany, 2007.

The daughter of Anna B. Parker and Raymond Farquhar, Mildred grew up in Leominster and Fitchburg. A graduate of Fitchburg High School and Smith College in Northampton, she was fluent in Spanish. Her Spanish was put to use as an undercover agent for the C.I.A. in South America including Argentina and Mexico for 6 years.

After her marriage, she worked for Paul Revere Insurance Co. in Worcester as a Claims Adjuster until her retirement. Mildred and her husband Burt enjoyed sailing their yacht anchored in Newport, RI, and travelling worldwide. She especially enjoyed Spain, Portugal and the European countries on small river cruises. They also took two excursions to Antarctica. Mildred thoroughly enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.

Mildred was an active member of the Grafton Historical Society and enjoyed organ concerts at the churches on Grafton Common.

Mildred is survived by her sister Anna Hansen of Bedford, MA and 28 nieces and nephews. Five siblings predeceased her,, Lieutenant Raymond Farquhar Jr., Gloria Caddell of Alabama, Virginia Whitehead of Florida, Marjorie Anderson of Oregon and James Farquhar of Leominster, MA.

All are welcome to gather with Mildred's family and friends Tuesday October 19, 2021 from 10am-11am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a time of personal remembrances at 11am in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Grafton.
