Disney Halloween Recipes Are Here to Make This Summer More Bearable

Have you ever wanted to make your favorite Disney Halloween recipes at home (especially those creepy-cute Jack Skellington cookies)? Now's your chance.

Disney is in the beginning stages of reopening, but that doesn't mean the company is done sharing its famous recipes for you to make at home while you continue to follow stay-at-home orders in your state and practice social distancing. This time the happiest place on earth is sharing its famous Disney Halloween recipes.

"For many of us, the Halloween season is a favorite time of year with all the creative costumes (for humans and pets!), festive parties, over-the-top decorations, and, of course, fabulous food," said Karen McClintock, the food and beverage content relations manager of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, wrote in a new blog post.

In honor of #Halfway2Halloween, the park blog featured old favorites like the park's pumpkin twists, pumpkin pancakes, and even a brand-new pumpkin crème brûlée recipe that looks too tasty not to try. Keep scrolling for a few of Disney's epic Halloween treats you can now make any time you want.

Pumpkin Pancakes

As Disney shared, this recipe is for "scrumptious pumpkin pancakes slathered with butter and syrup. ’Nuff said."

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted

  • ⅓ cup canned pumpkin

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp. sugar

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp. ground ginger

  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • ⅛ tsp. ground cloves

Directions:

  1. Combine milk, egg, melted butter, pumpkin, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt, and cloves in a medium bowl. Fold wet ingredients into the flour mixture.

  3. Heat lightly oiled large skillet or griddle over medium heat until hot. Add quarter-cup scoops of pancake batter onto the griddle. Cook for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Jack Skellington Cookies

"Of course, we give Halloween icon Jack Skellington his own cookie," McClintock said of this recipe. Just make sure to pair the sugary treat with plenty of milk to wash it down.

Ingredients:

Cookies:

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. baking powder

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • ¾ cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Icing:

  • 2 egg whites

  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar

  • ½ tsp. almond extract

  • Black food coloring paste

Directions:

Cookies:

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk until combined. Set aside.

  2. Combine butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture in three parts. Once the dough comes together, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  3. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  4. On a floured surface, roll out dough to ¼-inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter or an overturned cup, cut dough into circles about 3¼ inches in diameter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely before icing.

Icing:

  1. Place egg whites in the bowl of an electric mixer; whisk until frothy. Add confectioners’ sugar a little at a time, until thick but still spreadable.

  2. Place ⅓ of icing in a separate bowl. Add black food coloring paste to reserved icing and stir until color is uniform.

  3. Decorate to your black heart's content!
