The new series about the Queen of Tejano comes 23 years after the release of the Oscar-nominated biographical movie starring Jennifer Lopez.

What is Selena: The Series about?
The two-part series, helmed by Moisés Zamora, is a coming-of-age musical drama that follows Selena’s rags-to-riches tale.
Texas-born Selena first started singing in small gigs with her siblings before she began recording music.
Her success with songs like Como la flor and Amor Prohibido helped her land the title, Queen of Tejano music, and her career broke new ground for Latin artists.
The Grammy-winning artist was only 23 years old when she was shot to death on March 31, 1995.
Who is in the Selena: The Series cast?
Walking Dead’s Christian Serratos follows in the footsteps of J-Lo as she takes on the role of Selena.
The show also stars Desperate Housewives alumnus Richard Chavira as Selena’s father, Seidly Lopez as Selena’s mother, Purge actor Gabriel Chavarria as Selena’s brother, A.B., and Noemi Gonzalez as Suzette.
Selena: The Series premieres on December 4 on Netflix.
