American Airlines Has a New Rule for Those With Severe Nut Allergies, and It's Actually Pretty Great
Living with a peanut allergy is not fun. You pretty much can't eat any Thai food, you have to train your loved ones how to properly stab you with an EpiPen in case of an emergency and trick-or-treating with your kiddos can feel like navigating through a minefield (seriously, just ask Tia Mowry). And on a more serious note, visiting enclosed public spaces, like the cabin of an airplane, can sometimes lead to accidental allergic reactions.
But American Airlines is hoping to change that. The airline company just announced a new policy that would allow individuals with severe nut allergies to board their planes early, starting December 12.
Once arriving at their gate, those flying with American Airlines can notify the representatives that they have a severe nut allergy. They'll then board with one of the first groups so that they can wipe down their seat and any surfaces in their immediate surrounding area.
So while those poor souls may never have an easy time on Halloween, at least they can board their flights early to assiduously clean anything the last passenger's peanut butter sandwich might have accidentally touched
