AEW president Tony Khan has revealed he approved Chris Jericho's return to WWE TV due to his trust for Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Jericho, 50, shot to stardom in Vince McMahon's promotion but last appeared for them at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April 2018.

Now he is starring as the top heel in rival promotion All Elite Wrestling and even became their inaugural champion last year.
But Jericho is set to make a sensational return to WWE TV as a guest on the Broken Skull Sessions - with McMahon also giving his approval.
Y2J's appearance will mark the first time that a current AEW star has shown up on WWE programming via original content.
And Fulham owner Kham admitted initially having doubts over approving the show, before being assured by Austin's presence.
He told Busted Open Radio: "Basically what happened was I had never even considered this was going to be a possibility. When I heard from Chris that this was something they wanted to do, I had to think about it for a minute.
"He and Steve had apparently talked, and Steve asked Chris if he had interest in this programme, or I guess they had a conversation and it came up, but when Chris brought it up to me, at first I was taken aback because Chris doing something on Peacock, on WWE’s channel, is obviously going to give me pause.
"But when he said it was Steve hosting the show, I didn’t have to think very hard about it. Busted Open is an independent show. I really like being on with you guys.
"I really trust you and these times we have together, and and I really feel that way about Steve.
Even though Steve works for WWE and even though that’s another wrestling company that we compete with, I trust Steve immensely, and obviously, I trust Chris
