As the number of Massachusetts residents with coronavirus continues to climb, K-12 schools are taking steps to prevent the spread of the virus in their communities.
Below are the Massachusetts elementary, middle and high schools that have announced plans to close due to coronavirus concerns for Monday, March 16.

Abby Kelley Foster Charter: Closed through March 27.
Abington Public Schools: Closed until March 30.
Acton-Boxborough Regional School District: All district schools will be closed through Friday, March 20.
Acushnet Public Schools: Closed March 16 through 20. The district will re-evaluate on March 20 if school will be closed for another week.
Advanced Math & Science Charter: Closed through March 20.
Agawam Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Amesbury Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Amherst Regional Public Schools: All district schools closed for a minimum of two weeks starting Monday, March 16. Tentative return date of Monday, March 30 set.
Andover Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Arlington Public Schools: Closed for a period of two weeks, through at least March 27. The district is part of a group of six districts that decided to close for two weeks.
Ashland Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Athol-Royalston Regional School District: Closed through March 20.
Attleborough Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. “This action is taken as a mitigation measure to halt person-to-person spread of the Coronavirus as part of a city effort to prevent sustained community spread,” the school said after a student was placed into self-quarantine pending test results.
Auburn Public Schools: Auburn Public Schools will be closed from March 16 through March 27 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Avon Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Barnstable Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Baystate Academy Charter Public School: Closed Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27.
Bedford Public Schools: Closed for a period of two weeks, through at least March 27. The district is part of a group of six districts that decided to close for two weeks.
Belchertown Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Bellingham Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Belmont Public Schools: Closed for a period of two weeks, through at least March 27. The district is part of a group of six districts that decided to close for two weeks.
Berkley Public Schools: Closed through March 20.
Beverly Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Billerica Public Schools: Closed March 13 through March 27.
Blackstone-Millville Regional School District: Closed through March 27.
Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational: Closed through March 27.
Blue Hills Regional Vocational: “Closed from Monday, March 16 through Thursday, March 19. Friday, March 20 is a scheduled professional development day for faculty and students will not be in session. We plan to re-open March 23.”
Boston Public Schools: All Boston schools are being closed for one month by order of the mayor. The schools will close on March 17 until the week of April 27 in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Bourne Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District: Closed through March 27.
Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical: Closed through March 20.
Brockton Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Brookline Public Schools: All Brookline Public Schools will be closed through at least Friday, March 27.
Burlington Public Schools: All district schools will be closed for two weeks, starting Friday, March 13.
Cambridge Public Schools: All district schools will be closed through Friday, March 27.
Canton Public Schools: All schools closed through Friday, March 20. “Our plan at this time is that schools will reopen on Monday, March 23, 2020. At this time, there are no confirmed or presumptive cases of the COVID-19 in Canton.”
Carver Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Chelsea Public Schools: Closed until Monday, March 30. “We confirmed late this afternoon that there is a presumptive case of COVID-19 that involves the parents of a Wright Science and Technology Academy student.”
Chicopee Public Schools: Closed through March 29.
Clinton Public Schools: All schools closed until March 27. The district had previously closed only for Monday but announced Saturday it had extended the duration.
Concord-Carlisle Regional School District: Closed at least through Friday, March 27.
Danvers Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Dartmouth Public School District: Closed March 16 to March 20. The school district has no known cases of the virus in the schools but is conducting a deep clean out of an abundance of caution.
Dedham Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Dover-Sherborn Regional: Closed through March 20.
Dracut Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Duxbury Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
East Longmeadow Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.
Easthampton Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 and remain closed for two weeks.
Easton Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Erving School Union 28: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Everett Public Schools: The district has announced it will be closed on Friday, March 13 and will remain closed for a period of 30 days, ending on Monday, April 27.
Falmouth Public Schools: Schools expected to reopen Monday, March 30.
Framingham Public Schools: Framingham Public Schools, school buildings and district offices will be closed for two weeks, through March 29.
Franklin Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27.
Frontier Regional: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Gateway Regional School District: Gateway schools will remain closed from Friday, March 13 for a period of two weeks. The district reports it has a parent who “may be positive” with the coronavirus and had decided to cancel all school. Students from 3rd through 12th grade will be sent home with their Chromebooks. Staff will be asked to come to school on Monday for additional training on remote instruction and to plan for how they will work with students over the next two weeks. Students should expect their first assignments to be ready by Thursday, March 18.
Gill-Montague Regional School District: The district schools are closed for one week, March 16 to March 20. The district plans to reassess the situation next week to consider what to do beyond March 20.
Gloucester Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Greater Lawrence Technical: Closed through March 27.
Greater Lowell Technical: Closed through at least Friday, March 27.
Greenfield Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 20.
Hadley Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Hampden Charter School of Science: Closed through March 27.
Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Hampshire Regional School District: Closed until at least March 30.
Hanover Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Harvard Public Schools: Closed through Tuesday, March 17.
Haverhill Public Schools: All public schools in Haverhill will be closed through March 27.
Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School: Closed from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.
Hingham Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16. “More communication will be forthcoming on Monday, March 16," the district said. "The decision to close was based on an abundance of caution and there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hingham.”
Holbrook Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Holliston Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 20.
Holyoke Public Schools: The district is closing for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16, due to Coronavirus concerns.
Hopkinton Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 20.
Lawrence Public Schools: All public schools in Lawrence are closed and will reopen on Monday, March 30.
Leicester Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 20.
Leominster Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17.
Lexington Public Schools: Closed through at least March 27. The district is part of a group of six districts that decided to close for two weeks.
Lincoln Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Longmeadow Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27.
Lowell Public Schools: Closed for two weeks, starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27.
Ludlow Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 29.
Lynn Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Malden Public Schools: Closed Friday, March 13 until further notice.
Marlborough Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Marshfield Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Mashpee Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Medfield Public Schools: Closed through March 20.
Medford Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Melrose Public Schools: Closed through March 27.

Mohawk Trail/Hawlemont Regional School Districts: All Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont Regional School District buildings are closed for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27. This includes all school day and after school activities within our districts, including athletic activities.
Monson Public Schools: Closed March 16 until March 27.
Natick Public Schools: All district schools will be closed through Friday, March 20. If school closures are extended, the district will update Natick families.
Needham Public Schools: All district schools will be closed through Friday, March 27.
New Bedford Public Schools: The schools are closed effective immediately through Friday, March 20
Newton Public Schools: Schools closed through at least Friday, March 20. School is anticipated to resume on Monday, March 23.
Norfolk Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
North Adams Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Norfolk Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
North Reading Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Northampton Public Schools: Closed through March 28. “Students in grades 6-12 will be sent home with Chromebooks. Next week we will assemble age-appropriate learning materials for students in grades preK-5. I will be working with school staff next week to facilitate some continuity of instruction during the school shutdown.” Superintendent John A. Provost said.
Northborough/Southborough Public Schools: The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough will be closed from March 13 through March 27. They are anticipated to reopen on Monday, March 30. The closure applies to all schools, extra-curricular activities, athletics, clubs and building use.
Norwood Public Schools: Closed through March 20.
Notre Dame Academy: The Worcester academy is closed until further notice.
Norwood Public Schools: Norwood has announced it will close through at least Friday, March 20 “out of an abundance of caution.”
Pathfinder Regional High School: Closed from March 16 through March 27.
Paulo Freire Social Justice Charter: Closed through March 27.
Peabody Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Pembroke Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Pentucket Regional Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School: PVPA will be closed starting Monday, March 16, for two weeks through March 27, subject to change.
Pittsfield Public Schools: Closed until Monday, March 30.
Quaboag Regional School District: Closed until Monday, March 30.
Quincy Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Randolph Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Revere Public Schools: Starting Friday, March 13, schools are closed “until further notice.”
Salem Public Schools: Closed for a minimum of 2 weeks effective Monday, March 16.
Sandwich Public Schools: Closed from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 27th.
Scituate Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Sharon Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Shrewsbury Public Schools: Closed through March 20.
Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School: Closed from March 16 through March 27.
Somerville Public Schools: All district schools will be closed Friday, March 13 “as well as for a minimum of an additional 2 weeks starting Monday, 3/16/2020 to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.”
South Hadley Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 until March 31. The district said the schedule is tentative and may be extended.
Southern Berkshire Regional Schools: Closed March 16 through March 29.
Southwick-Tolland-Granville Schools: Closed March 16 through March 29.
Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District: Closed through March 20.
Springfield Public Schools: Springfield has closed all schools until March 27 and the mayor has declared a state of emergency for the city.
Sudbury Public Schools: Closed until Monday, March 30.
Sutton Public Schools: Sutton Public Schools will be closed for a period of two weeks, through and including Friday, March 27. All classes, as well as extracurricular activities, clubs, and sports, are suspended.
Swampscott Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Tantasqua Regional / School Union 61: Effective Monday, March 16, the Tantasqua Regional / School Union 61 Districts will be closed for a period of two weeks, through Friday, March 27.
Tewksbury Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Tyngsborough Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 20.
Uxbridge Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Veritas Prep Charter School: Closed through March 27. Schools will reopen on Monday, March 30. Students and parents of students in grades 5-8 will be emailed supplemental educational materials for the duration of the closure.
Wachusett Regional: Closed through March 27.
Wakefield Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Waltham Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Ware Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Wareham Public Schools: Closed through March 20.
Watertown Public Schools: Closed through Friday, March 27.
Wayland Public Schools: District schools are closed through Friday, March 27.
Webster Public Schools: Closed through March 27.
Wellesley Public Schools: Wellesley is closed for two weeks beginning Friday, March 13. The district reports this could change based on direction from state and local health officials. All students will be dismissed at the end of the day Thursday. The district is working to finalize plans for remote learning.
Westfield Public Schools: Westfield schools will be closed from March 16 to 27.
West Springfield Public Schools: Closed March 16 through March 27.
Weston Public Schools: District schools will be closed through Wednesday, March 18. No extracurriculars will be held while the school is closed. “We were notified today that a Weston student is symptomatic and the results of their COVID-19 test came back inconclusive. Additionally, a student connected to a previous case is under quarantine," Superintendent Marguerite Connolly said. "Taking these and other factors into consideration, as a measure to slow the potential rapid spread of this virus, it is necessary to close all Weston Schools for an extended period of time.”
Westwood Public Schools: The District will be closed through Friday, March 20.
Weymouth Public Schools: District schools to close through at least Friday, March 27.
White Oak School: White Oak School in Westfield will be closed from March 16 through March 27.
Winchendon Public Schools: The district announced Wednesday that schools are closed “until further notice.” A staff member at the high school reported a potential exposure. “The superintendent will send out a One Call message to the school community on Friday afternoon with an update,” the district said Wednesday. “Our intent is to reopen schools as soon as possible.”

Woburn Public Schools: Closed Monday, March 16 through March 27.
Worcester Public Schools: The district announced all schools will be closed until April 6.
