Snow is falling in Western Maryland, but temperatures are only low enough for a cold rain or wintry mix in central Maryland so far Tuesday.

Observers have reported 0.8 inches in Frostburg and 0.5 inches in nearby Eckhart Mines, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service will update reported snowfall on a map here on its website.

Forecasters are still expecting a dusting across much of Carroll County and northern parts of Baltimore and Harford counties, though according to reports on Twitter, snow was not accumulating on roadways.

With BWI Marshall Airport reaching 54 degrees Monday and dropping only to 34 degrees overnight, the ground is expected to be too warm to support much accumulation, particularly on pavement.
