A round-up of stories involving creative, digital and media organisations from across the North West. This week: The Big Partnership, Brazen, Apadmi and more.

The Big Partnership has revealed that profits grew from £1.05m to £1.16m in the year ending 31 May 2014, while turnover climbed from £7.1m to £7.8m. The PR and digital marketing agency also announced that head of the North West division, Sharon Mars, has been promoted along with Scotland-based Andrew Baird and Bryan Garvie, joinging founders Alex Barr and Neil Gibson as well as existing directors Zoe Ogilvie, Allan Barr, Graham Leitch and Marjorie Calder.

Cube3 has been appointed by Cosaf, a specialist in evaporative and hybrid cooling systems and ductwork services across the design and build industry following a competitive pitch between three agencies. The account, which will be based in Cube3's Manchester office, will be led by strategy director Nick Morgan.

Manchester-based Corporation Pop has launched a game for Facebook and Sina Weibo to engage students in South Korea, China and Nigeria with Northern Consortium UK (NCUK programmes) as a route to getting a UK degree. Success is a retro-styled game themed around the path that international students take to study at a UK university with each level providing information on how NCUK could help them.

Liverpool-based production company Zut Media has just created Everton FC's 2015-16 season ticket promotional film. The two-minute video features manager Roberto Martinez, first-team players, club legends and fans.

Foodservice buying and marketing consortium has selected Sale-based integrated agency One Marketing Communications to look after its brand overhaul. One Marketing Communications will redesign the Caterforce biannual brochures and, to further support the repositioning, develop a new website and strengthen its online presence.

Calvin Marketing has won accounts with home fragrance company Wax Lyrical and natural beauty brand Faith in Nature. The Cheshire-based agency will seek to raise awareness of Wax Lyrical's UK manufacturing success story and look after Faith in Nature's consumer PR and social media work.

Marketing consultancy MC2 has announced a double win with challenger bank Secure Trust Bank. Last September, it launched secure Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance. Now it is spearheading the firm's national communications as it begins to work with some of the UK's most ambitious small- to medium-sized enterprises, and it has also been appointed to lead the media relations for Secure Trust Bank's motor finance arm Moneyway.

Brazen has signed up its first client since opening for business in Dubai in January. The PR agency, which was founded in Manchester, will handle all PR and content marketing for the high-profile technology event STEP Conference.

Approximately 1,500 students and 150 businesses attended the four-day Digital Skills Festival held by independent trade association Manchester Digital. The event attracted a variety of North West employers including Barclays, E.ON, the BBC, On the Beach and Boohoo.

Liverpool-headquartered PR and communications agency Influential has been appointed to handle the national PR for Liverpool's 'One Magnificent City' summer celebrations. Influential will provide PR, digital and marketing support for the seven-week event, which is expected to draw up to a million visitors to the city.

Manchester-based mobile app developer Apadmi has published a new report looking into the public's view of wearable technology such as smart glasses, smartwatches and fitness trackers. Apadmi's Wearable Tech Study found that over a third of people in the UK would feel embarrassed or self-conscious if they wore wearable technology as it currently appears.

Refresh PR stopped traffic in Manchester on Friday, 13 February 2015 with a Valentine-themed stunt for consumer client Arbonne, the health, beauty and wellness organisation. The Northern Quartered-based agency planned, organised and managed the stunt in which 11 of Arbonne's white Mercedes cars toured the city in a convoy with frequent stops to deliver last-minute gifts such as lipsticks, bath oils and roses to members of the public.

Manchester-based digital agency theEword has been appointed to lead the digital strategy for Royal Westmoreland and Pure Leisure Group. Royal Westmoreland is a 750-acre estate in Barbados comprising villas and a golf course while Pure Leisure Group operates within the UK holiday park market from its head office in Lancashire.
