Canadian County deputies search for man accused of shooting victim, trying to run them down
Deputies are searching for a man accused of shooting a person and trying to run them down last month in the metro.Shortly after 11:05 p.m. Sept. 16, Canadian County deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Highway 66 and Gregory Road. The deputies learned that the suspect picked up the victim at Meridian Avenue and Enterprise Way in Oklahoma City, produced a handgun and drove the victim to Northwest 23rd Street and Gregory Road, according to a news release.The suspect demanded oral sex and, when the victim did not comply, the suspect told the victim to get out of the truck, the release states. When the victim got out of the truck, the suspect opened fire, hitting the victim in the right forearm with the second shot.Sheriff's Office officials said the suspect then tried running down the victim with his truck while the victim tried to run away. The victim was able to hide, and the suspect left the area, according to the release.The suspect has been described as a white male who is about 40 years old, bald with hair stubble, a stubble goatee and a pot belly. The man also had a tattoo, possibly of a flame, on his left forearm, according to the report. At the time of the shooting, the man was wearing a blue T-shirt and camouflage pants, officials said.The vehicle involved in the incident was identified as a silver, possibly 1996 to 2001 Dodge one-ton with a welding bed. The front of the vehicle had a vanity plate that read "BEEF."Sheriff's Office officials also said the vehicle had these features:Custom front bumper with brush guardBlack wheelsCab lightsTinted windows4 doorWelding bed with a 1 to 1 ½ foot gap between the welder and the cabA water cooler mounted on the driver’s side behind the welderTaillights are round and positioned on either side of the license plate on the rear of the vehicleCamouflaged seatsThe vehicle's sound system was customized for loud base, and the radio had a touch screen display.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 405-262-3434.
