KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Several playhouses, some with Dr. Seuss and Kansas City Chiefs themes, were on display Saturday at Nebraska Furniture Mart.
The furniture store hosted the Parade of Playhouses online auction event, for which the proceeds will benefit VCP.
Will Ruder, with the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, said the event was an opportunity to support a good cause, as well as “add some skills for our youth in our community and to address the rampant veteran homelessness that is pervasive across the country."
Seven companies, five schools and VCP all contributed to build the houses.
The auction originally was scheduled to be part of the Greater Kansas City Home & Lifestyle Show, which was canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The online auction ends Sunday at 5 p.m.
