Islip Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Carly

BAY SHORE, NY - If you're looking for a new companion, consider starting your search at a local animal shelter like the Islip Animal Shelter. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, many pets are still looking for their forever homes and shelters are still working to fulfill adoptions.

One of their available pets is Carly, a 7-year-old female Dilute Calico.

Here's a full description of Carly from the Islip Animal Shelter Facebook page:

Carly is a 7 year old Dilute Calico. She is very sweet and friendly. She loves to follow us around while cleaning and is a bit of a talker too. She has hyperthyroidism. This means her thyroid gland is overactive which causes weight lose and can lead to other problems if left untreated. Luckily we found this out early enough and she is on her medication. Carley takes her medication easily in a little canned food. The medication itself is also cheap. She will need bloodwork every few months to make sure her dose does not need to be changed. She is a sweet heart and deserves a loving home.
