As a person who survived the incredible 1960s unscathed and seeing innumerable accounts of indigenous peoples’ use and other ceremonial use of the amazing pharmacopia that nature provides to us, I think psilocybin therapy has the potential to offer great value in an enormously difficult arena of mental health (“Oregon’s voter-approved psilocybin therapy likely won’t be available until late 2023,” July 15). Any fear should be alleviated by the careful monitoring and training for practitioners and the regulations being developed. It could be transformative for those helped.
