The 41-year-old movie star wore a simple grey tee with a wide neck with a pair of jeans and a baseball cap on his day out.
The actor was also seen enjoying a cheerful conversation with his mother Betsy, and the two affectionately joined hands at one point in their chat.

Before heading open to the iconic bagel shop, which opened its first location in 1914, James had apparently gotten a bit of shopping done.
He was glimpsed carrying a bulging canvas shopping bag with Cha Cha scrawled across one side in pale pink.

The Disaster Artist actor's outing comes after he was reportedly subpoenaed in the legal fight between exes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
Johnny and Amber have accused one another of physical abuse and a part of their dispute concerns an alleged altercation in 2016.

Around 11pm the day after the alleged incident, Amber and James rode the elevator together in the building she used to live in with Johnny, per surveillance video.
The footage prompted Johnny's legal team to subpoena James, The Blast reported in a post that included the video in question.
In her 2018 memoir This Will Only Hurt A Little, James' Freaks And Geeks co-star Busy Philipps wrote that he physically attacked her on the set of the program.
He was allegedly incensed when Busy, following direction, lightly struck his chest while they were filming a scene.

James jolted out of character, 'grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, "DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!"' she wrote.
'And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me,' Busy continued, adding that the top brass instructed James to call her and apologize, which he did the day after the incident, and he faced no further repercussions.
The story went viral and Busy responded to the public discussion via Instagram, writing that she had accepted James' apology.
