MAHWAH, NJ — First Lady Jill Biden was born in Hammonton, and she grew up just outside of Philadelphia. But she has connections to Bergen County too, specifically Mahwah, Northjersey.com reports.

The publication found attendance records dating back to 1959 from Betsy Ross Middle School, which aligns with the time her father, Donald Jacobs, served as the CEO of the Mahwah Savings and Loan Association.

In 2010, Biden told NJ Monthly that her family lived in Mahwah for two years.

We returned to Northern New Jersey and lived in Mahwah for two years (third to fifth grade for me) at another stage in my father’s career, and then we went back to Pennsylvania.

Students at Betsy Ross are writing letters to the First Lady this week, and Michael DeTuro, director of curriculum and instruction at Mahwah Public Schools told northjersey that she has an open invitation.

Biden visited Burlington County earlier this week to discuss the $1.9 trillion stimulus plan. Read more: Jill Biden Touts COVID-19 Rescue Plan In Burlington County
