Report: Ypsilanti man, 30, drowns in Belleville pond

A 30-year-old Ypsilanti man drowned after allegedly taking a bet to swim across a pond Thursday night in Belleville. 

Cedric Collins drowned in the pond located behind an apartment building at Southport Apartment complex in Belleville, WDIV (Channel 4) reports

WDIV reports several people at the pond Thursday pressured Collins to take the bet to swim across even though he did not want to.

Van Buren Township Police Department is reviewing video some of the witnesses recorded and what led up to the drowning, according to WDIV.
