10 New COVID-19 Deaths In Warren Co. Nursing Homes

WARREN COUNTY, NJ - The rates may be slowing, but there are still 10 new deaths in long-term care facilities in Warren County since last week, according to the numbers reported to the New Jersey Department of Health by the facilities.

Gov. Phil Murphy, speaking during a news conference Monday, said that stemming the deaths in these facilities, among residents and staff is something his administration is working very hard on.

"There are several hundred thousand people's lives we're still trying to save as we speak," Murphy said. "And at the same time we mourn the extraordinary loss."

The loss Murphy is referring to is the 5,408 deaths that have been spread across 28,136 cases in 527 facilities.

Part of those efforts include a plan includes testing all residents and staff at long-term care facilities. It will require all residents and staff at long-term care facilities to be tested no later than May 26, with follow-up testing happening no longer than one week later.

In Warren County there are 496 cases are spread among the seven impacted facilities. There have been 103 deaths at these facilities, up from 93 last week.

The largest outbreak in Warren County was at Brakeley Park. The report shows that 124 cases, up one from last week, and 25 deaths, up three from last week.

Here are the facilities in Warren County that have patients positive for the coronavirus, followed by the deaths that have happened at those facilities. The list of facilities was provided by the state Department of Health; there may be discrepancies due to a delay in communications between the facilities and the state:

  • Phillipsburg Center, 1, 0

  • The House of The Good Shepherd, 46, 10

  • Warren Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 61, 11

  • The Chelsea at Brookfield, 47, 16

  • Forest Manor Health Care Center, 97, 19

  • Lopatcong Center, 120, 22

  • Brakeley Park, 124, 25
