Clay County sheriff clears scene of standoff with shooting suspect
The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Friday afternoon that two adult men were taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in the 9000 block of Liberty Drive.Police said they were first called to the area around 5 a.m. to investigate a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police said they found that one person had barricaded themselves inside a home.The sheriff's office said they took two men into custody and no injuries were reported. Police said the shooting victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.South Liberty Parkway between Flintlock and Interstate 35 was closed for most of the day because of the standoff.
