Linen Club Fabrics to open 160 stores in two years

Linen Club Fabrics – the premium brand from Jaya Shree Textiles, a unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited said it will open around 160 stores in the next two years time. Currently, Linen Club Fabrics has 89 stores of which three are exclusively owned while the rest are franchise-based.

HYDERABAD: Linen Club Fabrics – the premium brand from Jaya Shree Textiles, a unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited said it will open around 160 stores in the next two years time. Currently, Linen Club Fabrics has 89 stores of which three are exclusively owned while the rest are franchise-based.
“Linen Club Fabrics has also sent a proposal to the company board to approve an investment of Rs 250 crore for expansion plans.
Our linen capacity at our manufacturing unit at Rishra near Kolkata is 10 million metre per year. Our intent is to take this up to 13 million metre a year. We also want to double the yarn capacity from 3,000 tonne a year to 6000 tonnes in the next two years,” Jaya Shree Textiles chief executive officer (domestic textiles) S Krishnamoorthy said on the sidelines of the inauguration of its 19th store in Andhra Pradesh.
Krishnamoorthy said that AP was an important market for the brand as it draws 20-24% of its business from the state.
Last fiscal, Jaya Shree Textiles had clocked a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore of which Linen Club Fabrics had contributed over Rs 600 crore.
He pointed out that the company has 70% market share in the linen fabric market in the country, which is estimated to be around Rs 2,000 crore.
