8 New London Hotels To Plan Your Next Trip Around

As one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, London has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. However, the city is nothing if not resilient, and thanks to that famously British spirit of perseverance, London is looking ahead to better days with the introduction of a bumper crop of new hotels ready to welcome guests as soon as possible. Launching at the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, these are the new London hotels to start dreaming about visiting now.

The Mitre Hampton Court – September 2020

Dangling over the River Thames near Hampton Court Palace, the infamous seat of Henry VIII, the ultra-charming new Mitre Hampton Court hotel is home to 36 rooms, a delightful riverine restaurant and a brasserie-style bar spearheaded by Gordon Ramsay-alum Ronnie Kimbugwe. Dating back to 1665, much of The Mitre’s cool-meets-current, bold and eclectic aesthetic comes care of design star Nicola Harding, the vision behind the famed English country estate hotel, Beaverbrook.

Middle Eight – October 2020

Set in buzzy Covent Garden right in the center of London, the new 180-room Middle Eight hotel is a new addition to the London scene with sleek, Asian-inspired interiors and a city soul that’s distinctly London. Expect an ultra-slick, modern lobby and spacious suites with indoor/outdoor offerings.

The Guardsman – October 2020

A boutique bolthole with 53 rooms and six residences, new London hotel, The Guardsman is stationed right at the prestigious Buckingham Gate, just a six-minute walk to Buckingham Palace. The Guardsman oozes sophistication with a Tom Dixon-designed lighting concept and a private restaurant opened only to hotel guests and residents.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square – December 2020

The expansion of the Nobu brand has been nothing short of stratospheric in the last few years, and despite a prominent presence in the city already (see Nobu Hotel Shoreditch and Nobu Restaurant Old Park Lane), Londoners can’t seem to get enough. Opening at the end of 2020, Nobu Hotel London Portman Square will bring an infusion of cosmopolitan, contemporary luxury into the historic Marylebone neighborhood.

The Mayfair Townhouse – December 2020

From the team behind the much-lauded country house hotels Cliveden House and Chewton Glen, The Mayfair Townhouse is about to be London’s most exclusive new hotel. Catering to the fashionable, literary and cool cognoscenti, this refined Green Park hotel will have 172 rooms, some with private garden patios, making it a perfect pick for some glamours rest and relaxation in London’s poshest postcode.

NoMad London – February 2021

One of the most highly anticipated new hotels to come to London has to be NoMad London. Sister property of the beloved NoMad New York, NoMad London will be based in a former courthouse in Covent Garden and will no doubt quickly garner a reputation of one of London’s most stylish new hotels.  

The Londoner – Spring 2021

Billed as a “super boutique hotel,” The Londoner is a “lifestyle destination” coming to London in 2021. Based in the always-packed Leicester Square, the tourist heart of London, the 16-story new London hotel will boast 350 guest rooms and suites; private screening rooms; six different food and beverage options; and plenty of meeting space.

The Pan Pacific London - Spring 2021

Opening near the busy and bustling business district around Liverpool Street, The Pan Pacific London will be a major new London hotel opening in 2021. Housed in a newly constructed 43-story tower, the new Pan Pacific London hotel will be part of a mixed-use space, which will also include a new public plaza, private residences, retail space and a floor dedicated to wellness with a 60-foot infinity pool overlooking the plaza.
