Festival Pass for Thursday, Nov. 21

As we head into the holiday week, things are finally calming down a little bit on the festival front, but not before the debut of a new event in San Diego.

Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival kicks off Friday with stages stretching across the Port of San Diego. In order to see Ben Harper, Migos, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and more, festival goers can go stage-hopping by boat. Kelli Skye Fadroski explains in her interview with the founders.

Kelli was also at the Adult Swim Festival in Los Angeles last weekend where people were in fact riding a mechanical bull-like attraction shaped like a hot dog.

Wonderfront on the waterfront

After the demise of the beloved San Diego Street Scene, Ron Burgundy’s classy city has continued searching for a festival that incorporates the city to pick up that torch. Organizers hope the inaugural Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival, which will take place Friday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 24 and will feature performances by more than 120 artists, will be the one to fill that void.

Wacky, weird fun

The Adult Swim Festival’s return to LA was full of music, cosplay and a whole lot of weirdness. “Though its activations were big, bold and colorful, it definitely wasn’t for kids,” Kelli Skye Fadroski writes. And did we mention the mechanical hot dog ride?
