Back on the hill

After a 15-month hiatus, the popular “Music on the Hill” concerts are returning to Unitarian Fellowship Church, 3115 Friendship Place, Rockledge. Music on the Hill started 10 years ago, producing monthly music programs starring exceptionally talented performers younger than 19. The "Hill" is on the west side of U.S. 1 near Suntree Boulevard, where the pink Unitarian Hall sits atop a hill overlooking the Indian River.

Orchestrated by the Creative Arts Foundation, Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and the church, “Music on the Hill” showcases rising young musical stars. The free program begins at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, and features 14-year-old pianist, Nailah Clarke, a former winner of Brevard's Got Music Talent competition. Also on stage will be 16-year-old vocalist Natalie Mastali and Rockledge High School honor student, Douglas Dyer on violin.

In addition, the audience will be treated to a guest performance by professional vocalist and veteran of the Phoenix jazz scene, Krystal Clarke. The playlist will feature music from various musical periods by composers that include Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart, along with Broadway composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The non-profit Creative Arts Foundation of Brevard is dedicated to supporting exceptionally talented young performers through grants, tuition assistance and performance opportunities.
