A Melbourne motorcyclist died Tuesday after a crash with a sport utility vehicle threw him from his motorcycle in Melbourne in the early morning hours, police said.

Richard Abreu, 32, was driving his motorcycle along East Hibiscus Boulevard when Dina Branas, a 48-year-old Palm Bay woman, drove her Nissan SUV into his path from Oak Street in Melbourne at about 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, Melbourne police said in a statement. The collision threw Abreu off his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet.
