ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The Montclair resident who founded Bloomfield-based Juniper Communities has been inducted into the American Senior Housing Association Senior Living Hall of Fame.

Lynne Katzmann joined a roster of just 11 other people in the hall of fame during a ceremony in Palm Desert, California last month. On hand to present the award was her son, Andrew, who also works in the senior housing industry as a senior analyst with Columbia Pacific Advisors.

According to a news release, Katzmann founded Juniper Communities 31 years ago when she was just 32-years-old with no money. The senior citizen assisted living network now has 22 properties in three states, employs more than 1,550 people and generates nearly $100 million in annual revenue.
