Rite Aid Expands Coronavirus Testing To Kids 13 And Older In NJ
The tests are free at the 29 Rite Aids offering tests, but a parent or guardian must give permission and appointments are required.
NEW JERSEY — As cases of the coronavirus continue to surge in New Jersey, Rite Aid is expanding its free testing for the virus to children ages 13 and older, the company announced Tuesday.
The expansion will be at the 29 New Jersey pharmacies that are conducting the self-swab testing, the company said, and is available regardless of whether someone has symptoms.
The testing is funded by a partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Rite Aid is expanding its no-charge COVID-19 testing program through its partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
For children under 18 to get tested, legal guardians must provide consent, show their government issued-ID, and accompany their children to the appointment and supervise them during the test.

Patients are still required to register online at www.riteaid.com to schedule a test. Sites operate Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Testing will not be available on Thanksgiving or on Friday, the company said.
