A Dearborn County native has been identified as one of the US soldiers who was injured in the attack on Kabul's airport, according to the Marine's father.

Enquirer Media partner Fox19 reported that Kelsee Lainhart, who graduated from East Central High School in 2019, was one of several service members injured in the suicide bombing Thursday. The attack on the airport killed 13 service members.

Lainhart's father told Fox19 that the family is on the way to the hospital to see her. It is unclear if Lainhart is being treated at a local hospital.

Another Indiana native, Marine Humberto Sanchez, was among the US service members killed on Thursday. Sanchez graduated from Logansport High School, according to a Facebook post by the school district.

"We are forever indebted to the servicemen and women who risk it all to protect others," read the post. "We will never forget the names of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice."
