MILFORD, MA — MassDOT officials kicked off a major repaving project in the downtown Milford area on Tuesday that will refresh a stretch of Route 16 from the downtown area to near Route 140.

The $2.5 million project will get underway in June. MassDOT crews will repave the area from near Draper Memorial Park to the Hopedale town line at Route 140.

On top of resurfacing the road, MassDOT will rebuild sidewalks and culverts. The state will also rebuild the Route 16 and Route 140 intersection, widening some lanes and upgrading signal equipment.
