On August 22 last year, Eddie Jones travelled to Leicester to watch the Tigers’ game against Bath. It was a day he had been waiting for and the reason was that he had earmarked the potential of George Martin, the 19-year-old back-five player, and wanted to witness his Gallagher Premiership debut.
