The most anticipated game of the season to date in Class C-2 is this week’s Pinnacle Bank Game of the Week. No. 2 David City Aquinas (4-0) travels to No. 1 Oakland-Craig (4-0) on Friday night.
“Aquinas is a very well-coached team that doesn’t beat themselves,” Oakland-Craig coach Joe Anderson said. “They are fundamentally sound.”
It's expected to be a low-scoring, run-heavy defensive battle. The two teams have given up a combined 46 points in eight games in 2020.
On defense, Oakland-Craig is led by senior linebackers Mike Brands and Caden Nelson. The two are responsible for 67 total tackles. Brands averages 8.8 tackles per game and Nelson 8.0.
The Knights' offensive attack is led by running back Jaron Meyer. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior leads the team with 422 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

The standout linebackers will be tasked with stopping the Aquinas rushing attack of seniors Brett Kobza, Nolan Eller and fullback Michael Andel. The Knights' defense will also need to be ready for Aquinas' Kyle Napier on reverses and trick plays as a passer.
“We are going to have to be solid on our defensive assignments,” Anderson said. “Their offense can really create a lot of issues.”
