Zain Bahrain took the top spot in the regional Samsung Galaxy Cup football tournament, paving the way for the team to compete in the world cup in Rio De Janeiro.
The five-a-side regional competition, held in Dubai, saw Zain Bahrain beat teams from the UAE, Kuwait and Ukraine.
Zain Bahrain Corporate Events Manager Ghazi Radhi said: “We are very proud of our performance in Dubai and ready and excited to be the only team representing the GCC region in the final stage of the competition in Brazil. We have been training heavily for this competition with the support of the company, and are aiming for the win. If we do win, we will also be able to make a second charitable donation.”
The team is currently in training for the world cup tournament, which will be held from today until August 22. The Samsung Galaxy Cup is a global football tournament for floor sales teams of Samsung retailers. A total of 28 countries and 5,000 athletes are participating in the event, which also has a charity dimension. An additional amount was made available for participants to donate to their nominated channels through other support mechanisms.
