Annice Johnson
Annice Harris Johnson, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born April 12, 1939, in Albertville, AL, the youngest daughter of the late C.B. (Shorty) and Kate Martin Harris. She was a graduate of Crossville High School and came to Chattanooga to work after she finished school. While working for Bell South TelephoneCompany, she met and married her husband of 53 years, Carl Johnson. She and Carl were transferred to many cities throughout the southeast during his career with Railway Express Agency and the U.S. Post Office, but Chattanooga was always home. She was a dedicated member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, a loving wife, and mother.
In addition to her husband, R. Carl Johnson; she is survived by three sons, Raymond (Janice) of Woodstock, GA; Larry (Dee Dee) of Fairfield, OH; Clayton (Melissa) of Marietta, GA; three granddaughters, Alex and Sarah Johnson of Birmingham, AL; Amy Logan of Fairfield, OH; one grandson Nevel Johnson of Marietta, GA; six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by her brother, Dormon Harris of Taylor, MI; sisters Jan Fuller (Buddy) of Ider, AL; and June Langford of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brainerd Baptist Church, Hospice of Chattanooga, or a favorite charity.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 3, in the East Chapel. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
