In addition to being everyone’s favorite portmanteau meal, brunch is becoming the menu of choice for Spartanburg restaurants looking to expand their offerings.

Since December, downtown Spartanburg alone has gained four new brunch options, and each menu has something unique to offer. Classics like eggs Benedict, pancakes and omelettes sit next to Nashville hot chicken and waffles.

Spartanburg Eats fans weighed in on their favorite local brunches.

Here are their top four:

Mon Amie Morning Cafe

The No. 1 recommended brunch spot was Mon Amie Morning Cafe (2601 E. Main St.) on the east side. The New Orleans-inspired breakfast menu includes a cajun omelette with andouille sausage, chicken, onion, spinach and Brie cheese, shrimp and grits, Bananas Foster pancakes and cafe au lait made with Café Du Monde coffee. Lunch offers shrimp po' boys, Reubens, and their French Burger, topped with caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms and melted Brie.

Hours: 8 a.m.- 3p.m. Wednesday-Sunday

Downtown Deli and Donuts

Spot two was taken by Spartanburg staple Downtown Deli and Donuts (147 E. Main St.). The fresh menu rotates daily and includes much more than donuts. While it doesn't have a specific brunch time, it does offer breakfast with items like smashed avocado toast, a Nu Nova bagel with smoked salmon, avocado, sliced tomato, baby spinach, roasted peppers and herbed caper cream cheese, and the Farmhouse breakfast sandwich with egg, fried green tomato, applewood bacon, and pimento cheese. Lunch items include its signature Downtown Chicken Salad, Zingerman braised short rib sandwich and vegan portabella burger.

Hours: 8-11 a.m. (breakfast), 11:30 a.m. -2 p.m. (lunch) Monday-Friday

Heirloom - A Milltown Eatery (805 Spartan Blvd.) on the west side tied for third. The farm-fresh menus change seasonally. Brunch options include quiche specials, fried chicken and roasted red potatoes, and the Heirloom Bloody Mary, garnished with bacon, celery and fried okra.

Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday

Delaney's Irish Pub

Also ranked third, downtown favorite Delaney's Irish Pub (117 W. Main St.). Delaney's offers more than pub food — it also serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The pub-themed brunch includes a pimento cheese and bangers omelet, a Belfast breakfast burger topped with thick-cut bacon, Jameson mustard, and a fried egg, and a Guinness brat, as well as staple brunch dishes like biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles.
