PEORIA - Eric Robert Sturm, age 65, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family.

Eric was born on May 12, 1956, in Meshoppen, PA, to Wallace R. and Betty (Stevens) Sturm. He was previously married to Suzie Powers Sturm.

Surviving are his daughters, Samantha (Joe) Kinsey of Charlotte, NC, and Rachel (David) Clary of Bloomfield, MO; and his granddaughters, Emma Clary, Quinn Kinsey, Claire Kinsey, Willa Clary and Layne Kinsey. Also surviving are his siblings, Ivy Sturm of Dallas, PA, Frank Sturm of Chillicothe, IL, and Elsie (David) Norton of Vero Beach, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Sturm and Betty Turrell.

Eric was a self-employed contractor and owned two successful businesses, Mail Box Etc. and Home Services Unlimited. He was a member of the Laborer's Union and loved spending time in his garage and working with his hands. Woodworking was his passion.

A private burial will be held at LaSalle Cemetery in Rome and a celebration of Eric's life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Eric's name may be made to Transitions Hospice.
