Kids Take On Watsonville Cops In Friendly Soccer Match

WATSONVILLE, CA — The Aztecas Youth Soccer Academy and Santa Cruz County Probation Department are inviting the community to Watsonville on Sunday for the 6th annual "Aztecas Challenge the Law" soccer match and fundraiser.

The match will pit the Azteca Youth Soccer Academy against members of the Watsonville Police Department and Probation Officers. The Aztecas — many of whom have been involved in gangs or the justice system — compete year-round in local indoor and outdoor leagues, hold annual youth soccer camps and have been featured on ESPN and other major media outlets.

The match is a fundraiser for the Aztecas Youth Soccer Academy, with a suggested donation of $5. The match takes place Aug. 25, from 1-3 p.m., at Watsonville Soccer Central, 34 Harkins Slough Rd.
