LISTEN: Louisville band My Morning Jacket releases new album
It's Friday and that means new My Morning Jacket.Well, sort of. It's actually old music, technically, but you've never heard it.The Louisville rock band released "The Waterfall II" Friday, a follow-up to "The Waterfall," which came out five years ago. It's the last album we've gotten from them until today.According to Rolling Stone, its tracks were recorded during the same sessions as its predecessor at Panoramic House studio in Stinson Beach, California. They said at the time, My Morning Jacket considered releasing all the music they’d recorded as a triple-album, but they ultimately decided to pare back the project.Frontman Jim James said the decision to unearth the songs was sparked from a bit of serendipity in the early days of self-quarantine, hearing fitting lyrics while on a walk: "hypnotized from doing the same old thing." The album is already available for preorder on CD and vinyl, but you can't actually get it until Aug. 28.
