WINTER HAVEN. Fla. — Winter Haven Police have charged Debonaire Antoine McIntosh with first degree murder in a second shooting that happened on Wednesday.

Officers were responding to a shooting on Palmetto Avenue Wednesday at 11:36 a.m. when they heard additional gunshots, according to Public Safety Director Charlie Bird.

McIntosh was seen running from the area after he shot Cody Hunt multiple times and was later apprehended and taken into custody. Hunt was a well-known club promoter in Polk County.

In an interview with investigators, McIntosh said that he saw the officers speaking to people after the first shooting and as he walked away he ran into Hunt. He claimed Hunt yelled from behind him “ARE WE GONNA FIGHT IT OUT? OR SHOOT IT OUT?”

McIntosh said he turned around and saw Hunt’s hands in his pockets. Within a split second he aimed and shot at Hunt multiple times and then ran from the scene.

McIntosh is scheduled for first appearance at Central County Jail Thursday.
