Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will impose various measures if Qatar does not fulfill their demands within 72 hours, state news provider Al Ahram Al Arabi, a political magazine, said on its website.
Citing "high-level Arab sources," it was reported that the economic sanctions against Qatar would be widened.
Qatar’s membership of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) could be suspended and its assets in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the UAE could be frozen.
If such measures were to be taken, a military base could be set up in Bahrain, which would be Egypt’s first military presence in the Gulf region.
Several Arab states -- including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain and Yemen -- have imposed a diplomatic and economic blockade on Qatar, whom they accuse of supporting terrorism.
Doha denies the accusations and has rejected a 13-point list of demands it received from the four countries to restore ties.
Turkey vowed to stand by Qatar and has called on Saudi Arabia to end all sanctions against the Gulf state.
