A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was shot on Brady Street late Friday night.

Milwaukee police said the shooting happened at approximately 11:43 p.m. on the 1300 block of East Brady Street, near the restaurant Dorsia and the Hi Hat Lounge.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an argument.

Bryant Junco was driving west down Brady Street and stopped right in front of the shooting. His attention was drawn towards the man running a hot dog stand.

"I know the gentleman selling hot dogs outside Hi Hat. So I rolled down the window to say hi. He walked over to give me a fist bump and then we heard two shots in front of his hot dog cart," Junco told the Journal Sentinel.

Junco said Milwaukee police arrived within a minute or two. He posted a video of the aftermath to the Brady Street Neighborhood Facebook group. "I never saw a guy get shot until tonight. Wow," Junco wrote in the post.

Witnesses say two men crossed Brady Street, approached a man, and fired at point-blank range towards the man.

Junco lives in Milwaukee and is a write-in candidate in the District 3 aldermanic race. He said other witnesses described two men walking across the street from Dorsia, then opening fire at point-blank range.

The shooting comes a little more than a month after a 31-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and killed outside Casablanca on Brady Street.
