SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Savannah Police announced the arrest of wanted man, Michael Pruitt, 39. Police say Pruitt has been located and charged in connection to a shooting investigation.

According to police the October 9 report of two 12-year-old girls being shot during an attempted armed robbery turned out to be false.

Both received non-life-threatening injuries and have since been discharged from a hospital.

The initial report suggested the girls were with an adult relative at Hitch Park when two teens attempted to rob the adult. It was reported that one of the suspects fired shots and hit both of the girls.

The reports were unfounded.

SPD issued warrants for Pruitt on felony false statements and misdemeanor obstruction in connection to this case.
