Winter won't loosen its grip this weekend in Northeast Ohio: Weather forecast

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It's starting to get a little painful to hear of the continued chances of snow and a wintry mix this weekend in Northeast Ohio, especially during the Cleveland Indians' home opener Friday afternoon.

Tribe fans going to the game will need to dress warmly for temperatures in the low 40s to upper 30s. The night will bottom out in the upper 20s. With strong winds over 20 mph at times, which will speed up downtown, expect wind chills about 5 degrees colder. Random flurries or a wintry mix of rain and snow can't be ruled out throughout the day.

Things should start drying when an incoming area of high pressure arrives Saturday. But as winds from the northwest persist, I can't rule out a few pesky lake-effect flurries. Temperatures will take a dip into the 20s and 30s because of that wind shift, but thankfully the winds won't be nearly as brutal compared to Friday.

Most of Sunday is looking dry, except in the evening and overnight as the next low-pressure system passes through the area. Temperatures will reach a high in the mid-30s but drop to the low 30s overnight, so scattered showers should be mostly snow. It's too early to say exactly how much will accumulate, but right now I'd say it won't amount to anything to worry about.
