Two men in an SUV led Texas deputy constables on a wild chase across a golf course after the driver refused to for authorities last week.
The incident happened in Cypress when the Special Operations Unit for Harris County Constable Precinct 4 tried to pull over a Range Rover with two people inside, KTRK-TV reports. But the driver wouldn't stop, and a chase ensued.
Deputies pursued the SUV across the Cypress Lakes Golf Course, where a golf was able to capture the two vehicles speeding across fairways. Eventually, the driver lost control of the Range Rover, which crashed in the Fairfield subdivision.
"Then, I saw a police car, and it was like being in Grand Theft Auto," Phillip Morgan, the golfer who recorded the pursuit, told KTRK. "It was kind of extreme."
The two men inside the SUV fled the crash scene on foot, and deputies set up a perimeter. According to the news outlet, one of the suspects, who was expected in court for a chase late last year, dropped an AK-47 when he fled on foot and is accused of spitting on a deputy. The second suspect was apprehended while he was in his swimming pool at his home.
No details were released concerning the original reason deputies tried to pull over the Range Rover.
